PEOPLE & PLANET

Responsibility, woven into our work.

OUR APPROACH

Responsibility at OBide begins with everyday decisions: which fibers we select, how we run our weaving and dyeing processes, and what we record along the way. We work to keep quality consistent, to provide documentation for certified materials where a program requires it, and to manage our production responsibly. It is ongoing work, and we describe it as it stands.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING

Responsible sourcing starts with the fiber

We focus on three materials, where the choice of fiber and its documentation matter most.
  • Cotton

We offer cotton options sourced through Better Cotton and organic cotton programs, depending on the requirements of each fabric.
  • Man-made cellulosic fibers

We work with fibers such as lyocell, modal and viscose, including options from established producers with responsible wood-sourcing practices.
  • Recycled materials

Our fabric range includes recycled fiber options. Depending on the product, recycled content may be supported by standards such as GRS or RCS.

Certification applies to specific materials, products and sites, not to every fabric we make. Ask us about the fabric you are considering.

MATERIAL BRANDS

Fibers from established material brands

Some of our fabrics are made with fibers from these brands. Where a fabric uses a branded fiber, we can tell you which one and share the information its producer makes available.
  • LYCRA®

Elastane fibers for stretch and recovery

  • Lenzing

    Wood-based cellulosic fibers

Brand names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners and are shown to identify the fibers used.

OUR STANDARDS

Formal bluesign® recognition has not yet been obtained.

  1. 01

    Built around bluesign® requirements

The facility’s chemical-management systems and manufacturing practices are being shaped by bluesign® requirements as it is designed and built, from how chemicals are selected and approved to how they are used in production. This is a construction and development objective.
  2. 02

    Toward factory-wide PFAS elimination

The facility is being designed to avoid intentionally added PFAS across its dyeing and finishing operations, an approach broader than offering individual fluorine-free water-repellent finishes. It is a planned way of operating, not yet an independently verified result.
